ACS KENNETH A SPENCER AWARD – JERRY W. KING

Dr. Jerry King, CFS – formerly of the University of Arkansas, is receiving the 2020 Kenneth A. Spencer Award this year.

The Kenneth A. Spencer Award is awarded for outstanding achievement in agricultural and food chemistry is administered by the Kansas City Section of the American Chemical Society. The award recognizes meritorious contributions to the field of agricultural and food chemistry. 

 Dr. Jerry King, CFS – formerly of the University of Arkansas, is receiving the 2020 Kenneth A. Spencer Award this year. The award is given by the Kansas City Section of the ACS. Dr. King is being recognized for his over 50 years of contributions in applying sub- and supercritical fluids for chemical separations – both in processing as well as the analysis foods and natural products.  

He will present a lecture entitled, “A Multidisciplinary Journey through Agricultural and Food Chemistry” at ACS’s Fall National Meeting in San Francisco.  Later in October, 2020, an award banquet and mini-symposium will be held in his honor in the Kansas City area by the local ACS section.
